Einbu monument
Situated along Valldalsleden
A monument raised in memory for when King Olav passed this place
According to the kings sagas, St. Olav stent the night at Einbu Farm while fleeing from Canute the Great in 1028/29.
The local legend tells us that the king Olal and his men were well received on the farm, and that food and shelter was provided for them.
By the road in Lesjaskog, a monument has been erected in memory of this legend. From Einbu, Olav and his men travelled east into Gudbrandsdalen and then through Sweden and into todays Russia to meet Prince Jaroslav.
