Halfdan Haugen - Burial mound

Situated along Gudbrandsdalsleden
Burial mound at Tingelstad.

In 1913 Hadeland Folk Museum was established around the mound. According to Heimskringla, King Halvdan Svarte drowned in Randsfjorden, in Røykenvik. The body was divided and one part buried in each of the lands where he ruled. According to legend, the internal organs were buried here in this mound, named Halvdanshaugen.
