The farmstead, with its eight timber buildings from the 17th - 18th century, is beautifully located by the trail. Here you can stay in an authentic pilgrim accommodation, "Sælehuset," which is built and prepared for pilgrims. The house is a reconstruction of a 'sælehus', which is an accommodation from the Middle Ages.
Sælehuset has electricity and includes a fully equipped kitchen, beds, dining table, wood stove and drying rack for shoes. There is also a variety of foods for sale (bread, butter, spreads, dinner, various drinks, etc.). You can sleep in your own sleeping bag or rent bed linen for a fee. The outdoor area has a fantastic view. A small library with literature on nature, culture and pilgrimage is available for the guests. It also has a piston to stamp the pilgrim passport. Wi-fi available.
There is access to toilets in a separate house in the yard. Several of the other houses in the farmyard also have accommodation (store house, smoke house, and barn). Hæverstølen has a total of 20 beds.
The hosts at Hæverstølen are Unni Larsen and Børge Dale.
Dogs are welcome.
