The church has preserved its original appearance, except for the church porch, sacristy and tower. The stone church and its characteristic west gable with bricked-out half-timber, has stood through all seasons for several hundred years. When Karl XII's (Swedish king) men used the church as a place of accommodation during the great Nordic war (1700-1721) , they lit a fire inside the church with wood from benches and other furniture!

The church tower is equipped with two church bells. The oldest is from the 1200s and the other is a gift from Maren Juel at Hafslund Manor in 1804.

Inside the church you will find the pulpit from after 1741, where you can see the coats of arms of the Huitfeldt and Werenskiold families adorning the front, also owners of Hafslund Manor.

Ingedal church is a so-called votive church – the gifts that were given to the church were called votive gifts. Often this gift was a miniature ship if you got help in specific emergencies at sea. Inside the church there is such a ship hanging from the ceiling.
