Kjørkjehaugen is an old church site from the 13th century that is mentioned in a medieval document. The document refers to a stone church at Kjørkjehaugen in 1437. The remains of the church are intact. In 1728 Kjørkjehaugen was replaced by a new church in Tretten. Kjørkjehaugen is on the pilgrim trail.
