About the Pilgrim Hostel at Lian Gård

The Pilgrim Hostel, located 7.5 km from Nidaros, is a place where you can take time to reflect on your journey, find peace, and pause along the way.

The hostel offers facilities across two floors and is unstaffed, with self check-in and check-out. It is well suited for self-catering, and a code for the key box at the entrance will be provided upon confirmed booking.

Payment

We use a “Pay by Link” solution sent via email. Your booking is confirmed once payment is completed, and you will then receive the access code.

Group bookings (4+ persons)

Please contact us by email to arrange a discounted rate. Group members will be allocated available beds within assigned rooms.

Cancellation / Changes

All cancellations must be made in writing.

• Cancellations made more than 48 hours before arrival: 100% refund
• Cancellations made less than 48 hours before arrival: 50% charge

Breakfast

Breakfast can be delivered to your door for NOK 120 (must be pre-ordered).

The breakfast includes freshly baked bread with cheese, ham, and vegetables (two sandwiches), fresh orange juice, and a traditional “småttåbåttå” (a sour cream bun similar to a Berliner, coated in sugar and cinnamon), to be enjoyed with coffee available at the hostel.

House rules

• Personal sleeping bags or bed linen are not allowed
• Pets are not permitted

Accessibility

Lian Gård is located approximately 8 km from Trondheim city center. It is easily accessible by the city tram, Gråkallbanen, with the farmhouse only 200 meters from the final stop at Lian.

You may also choose to walk into Trondheim and Nidaros, and take the tram back for your overnight stay. Trams run every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening.

The Pilgrim Hostel at Lian Gård is the final accommodation along the Gudbrandsdalen route before reaching Nidaros Cathedral and Trondheim.
