Lyse kloster ruins
Situated along Kystpilegrimsleia
The key location Bergen encompasses the cultural heritage sites of Lysekloster, as well as St. Mary’s Church and the St. Sunniva statue in Bergen city center.
Lysekloster was a medieval Cistercian monastery (the foundation stone was laid in 1146). Today, only the ruins of the foundations remain of the monastic complex. These provide a clear impression of the monastery's footprint and the various rooms on the ground level, and the site itself is a truly idyllic setting.
