Oppdal Turisthotell has a history that stretches back 100 years. The hotel was opened to guests in 1924. It was architect Gudmund Hoel who designed the hotel for the Norwegian Dining Car Company. At the time, the cost of building the hotel was 1,221,138 kroner and 85 øre. A staggering amount of money, that resulted in a magnificent building that impressed clients with its high standard. There were soft carpets on the floor, silk on the walls and hot and cold water in all rooms. And of course, the hotel was clad in slate from Oppdal. In the years leading up to today, more and less prominent guests have visited Oppdal Turisthotell. There are many stories in the walls here and the hotel has a special place in the hearts of all Oppdalians.
