At Opstad burial site, you’ll find as many as 170 ancient monuments. The site includes over a hundred burial mounds, several standing stones and stone formations. The site was used continuously from Early Bronze Age all the way through the Viking Age. Opstad burial site has been excavated at numerous occasions since its discovery in the 1820s. Today, the site is open for the public, and has multiple information signs. The site is clearly visible from the road.
