Østre Aker Church is one of Oslo's oldest churches still in use. When it was built in 1860 it was the parish church in the middle of a large agricultural area, now it is located in the middle of the highway, industry, blocks and houses. This is an oasis in the middle of the capital.
In the summer of 2024, the church opened its doors to pilgrimage accommodation for the first time, which was a success for guests and hosts alike.
