Pilgrim reception from 1st October 2025

At the pilgrim reception in the visitor center of Nidaros Cathedral, pilgrims can receive the Olav Letter and have their completed pilgrimage registered.

Monday - Friday: 09:00-15:00. Saturday - Sunday: 09:00-16:00.

In the pilgrim reception you will receive the last stamps in your pilgrim passport, and if you qualify for the Olav Letter you will be awarded it here. Your walk will be registered in the pilgrimage statistics, and you will receive the "Pilgrimage town of Trondheim's gold coin" which provides good offers on selected restaurants, accommodations and attractions in Trondheim.

The visitor center is located right next to the milestone in front of Nidaros Cathedral, and consists of a ticket counter, shop and cafe.

The pilgrim reception is temporarily moved to the visitor center of Nidaros Cathedral. Nidaros Pilegrimsgård, where the reception and Trondheim Pilgrim Center was previously located was closed in October 2025, and there is no longer accommodation available in the building. Trondheim Pilgrim Center is temporarily without a fixed location, but can be contacted at trondheim@pilegrimssenter.no.

Work is underway to establish a new, permanent location for the Pilgrim Reception in Trondheim from 2026.
