Saint Sunniva is a female Norwegian saint.

According to legend, Sunniva was an Irish king's daughter who fled to Norway with her retinue; they were shipwrecked on the island of Selja (see Selja Monastery in Stad Municipality). Sunniva and her followers died there. In 1170, Sunniva's relics were moved to Bergen and placed in Christ Church at Holmen (Bergenhus). A statue of St. Sunniva now stands on the site of Christ Church at Bergenhus. The Bergen key location encompasses the cultural heritage site of Lysekloster ruins (approx. 30 km south of Bergen) as well as St. Mary's Church and the St. Sunniva site (both in Bergen city center).
