Here, you’ll find both stone circles, obelisks, stone formations and grave mounds.

Burial customs in the Iron Age were very diverse, and we do not know exactly why people were given different types of burial monuments. Perhaps at some point there was a change in the view of the dead? Perhaps the stone circles represent symbols that are supposed to communicate with the gods? Perhaps the mounds are more decorated as a dwelling for the dead? The menhirs can be markers of territories, so that strangers know that the area is populated. These are some of the questions you may wonder about when visiting Strømshaug burial ground. The pilgrim trail goes through the burial ground. There are also benches, and an opportunity for a breather in cultural-historical surroundings.
