The sculpture "M.A.U.R." (meaning ant) is made by artist Erik Pirolt and can be found in Øyer Municipality.

The artwork is part of the project Tankeplass (meaning place of thought), see all the Tankeplass artworks here.

"M.A.U.R" stands for Magisk Altomfattende Underliggende Romprogram (meaning Magical All-embracing Underlying Space program).

The 2,5 x 2 x 1,5 meter bronze sculpture depicts an ant studying nature, equipped with an astronaut outfit and a film camera. The camera is directed at a giant anthill that is located next to the pilgrim trail at Kløv. In the clearing, with a view over the valley and surrounded by large trees, the artist has been inspired by the anthill as an image of nature as creative work, and language as a way of being conscious of this creative work.

Kløv has for a long time been a place for rest on the highest point between Øyer and Tretten. After the steep rise through the forest, this open and peaceful place invited the walker to have a rest or stay the night. The immediate surprise aspect of coming across the giant ant and the anthill in the woods, opens up for existential questions and pondering - What are we? Where do we come from? Are we a part of nature? "M.A.U.R" can be seen as a metaphor for humans attempting to put ourselves in the centre and create context and comprehension , but also with the possibility for a different and more collectively oriented way to be in the world.
