Artwork - "Roten"

Situated along Gudbrandsdalsleden
The artwork "Roten" (meaning the root) is created by the artist duo AiPotu (Anders Kjellesvik and Andreas Siqueland). It's located on a hill between Blokkhus and Høgkorsplassen in Gran municipality.

The artwork is part of the project Tankeplass (meaning place of thought), see all the Tankeplass artworks here.

The base is a 4.5 meter high sculpture made of concrete and silicate paint, clearly visible on a hill along the stretch from Blokkhus to Høgkorset. Here, Pilegrimsleden follows the ancient Kjølvegen between Randsfjorden and Einafjorden, mentioned in the saga of Håkon Håkonsson from 1225. After the steep climb up from Brandbu, the ridge is a suitable place to rest and to get a view over the vast landscape. Read more here: Roten
