Toftemo Tourist Station has been in operation since 1820 and offers accommodation and dining in a scenic landscape that is steeped in history. The site was originally part of Tofte Royal Farm and has been run as a coaching inn since its beginnings. During King Haakon VII’s coronation journey in 1906, King Haakon, Queen Maud, and Crown Prince Olav all stayed here.
Fancy a swim? In July and August, we have a heated swimming pool on our outdoor terrace. Our café is open all year round, serving high quality traditional Norwegian food. In addition to the hotel, we offer a campsite with 150 pitches including electricity, as well as spaces for caravans, motorhomes, or tents along the Gudbrandsdalslågen River, where you'll find excellent fishing spots.
Toftemo is easily accessible from the E6, located 2 km north of Dovre and 10 km south of Dombås, and is used by many guests traveling along the pilgrim trail. For those seeking other nature experiences, Dovre is surrounded by beautiful and wild mountains in every direction. Just a 20 minute drive gets you right up in the high mountains. Here you can enjoy Dovrefjell, Rondane, and Jotunheimen on foot, by bicycle, on skis, on horseback, or on a dog sled.
Dogs are welcome, and a washing machine is available.
