There are hill top forts all over Norway, but nobody really knows exactly in what way they were used. Some believe that the forts were used as refuges during troubled times, others believe they were guard posts. The pilgrim trail does not go all the way up the hill, but if you dare climb to the top, you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view of the area. More information about the hill top fort on Torgalsåsen can be found at the sign by the trail.
