The first church in Tynset was consecrated in 1211 by Archbishop Thore - to St Thomas, St Laurentius and St Margrete. The site of the first church is marked on the trail, with a good view over Tynset Church.
Tynset Church is an octagonal church from 1795, built in timber.
In the summer season 2024, the church is open daily from 17th of June until 11th of August, from 10:00 til 19:00.
