Sjøglytt
Sjøglytt is located in a interesting and beautiful cultural landscape! It's part of a project by Vestland and Rogaland counties called Knutepunkt for kunnskap (hub for knowledge), where you can learn about the area.
The cabin is also lower the bar for people who wish to hike in the area - a place to eat a packed lunch, get some warmth and read books from the Nynorsk library.
Parking is free in Selje and you can park either in the center or by the school. If you're kayaking, you can leave it at BUA/Seljesanden, and there's a guest harbor for boat in Seljevågen.
Trail to Sjøglytt
Getting to the cabin is easy. Follow the signs from the tourist info or bus-stop at Selje school. If you're coming by boat, the trail is visible from the harbor toward Seljesanden. The walk takes about 10-30 minutes, depending on your pace. The trail is well lit and possible to use all year round, begins at Skogavegen near the school and takes you towards Risnakken. The route extends further towards Kvernshusdalen, where there is a fishing lake, and continues to the second-highest peak in Selje, Tarvaldseggja. You can follow the trail even further from Risnakken to Djupedalen. At Risnakken you'll find outdoor exercise equipment, an outdoor shelter, a play area, and a breathtaking panoramic view over the center of Selje, Selja, Stadhalvøya, and Stadthavet.
