The site has been excavated by archaeologists. Among the findings, there were pieces of glass, decorated ceramics and burnt animal- and human bones. The archaeologists also found traces of buildings and cooking pits. This area has probably been used for rituals connected to funerals. People in the Iron Age had different forms of funeral customs than we have today. It was not uncommon to sacrifice both animals, artefacts and food to the gods, in orer to see to that the departed had a safe transition to the realm of the dead.
