St. Mary's Church is one of Bergen's oldest churches, dating back to the 12th century.

The key location Bergen comprises the cultural heritage sites of Lyse kloster ruins (south of Bergen), St. Mary's Church, and Sta. Sunniva - Bergen St. Sunniva (both in Bergen city center). St. Mary's Church is Bergen's oldest parish church. It is a medieval stone church located directly behind Bryggen. The church is among Bergen's oldest buildings. A brief pilgrim service is held in the church every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 to 12:15. You are welcome to join.
